Opium for the Mind: A Medley of Random Thoughts

This is a labour of love, so to say, stemming from an inner urge to express my emotions. The arrangement of the words and images within the covers of this book are deeply rooted in my personal experiences and the idea to publish them is to connect with like-minded souls who may have experienced the same at some point of their lives. In this journey, I explore the labyrinth of emotions, offering you windows into our shared human experience. As you close the book, I hope you carry echoes of the verses and the accompanying graphics which may sometimes resonate with the specificity of a situation and sometimes with the universality of theme.

Although a greenhorn in poetry writing, I am on the wrong side of fifty, working as the General Manager for a global information technology company. By training I am a graduate in Chemical engineering from Jadavpur University, by practice & profession, a postgraduate in management from IIM Calcutta (strange bedfellows they are with poetry!). Am based out of Kolkata (erstwhile Calcutta) situated in the eastern part of India, where I live in a joint family. I have interests in reading (almost anything that I can lay my hands on), traveling (am consumed by wanderlust having visited 25+ countries), history (with special interest in Colonial Calcutta) and religion (without being religious), not in any particular order.
